Introducing the Digital Police Portal: India's SMART Policing Initiative Is Here

A landmark step under Digital India — bringing police services to your fingertips and empowering law enforcement with cutting-edge tools.

The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), headquartered at NH-8, Mahipalpur, New Delhi, is proud to announce the launch of the Digital Police Portal — India's unified, technology-driven platform that connects citizens and police forces across the country under one powerful digital roof.

Accessible at www.digitalpolice.gov.in, the portal serves as an aggregator for all police-related IT applications and citizen services — a single destination that brings transparency, speed, and accountability to law enforcement in India.

What Is the Digital Police Portal?

Part of the Government of India's flagship Digital India — Power to Empower mission, the Digital Police Portal is a SMART Policing Initiative designed to modernise how citizens interact with law enforcement and how police forces operate, investigate, and collaborate.

It is not just a website. It is a comprehensive digital ecosystem — serving both the public and police professionals through two dedicated service streams.

For Citizens: Services That Matter, When You Need Them

The portal puts essential police services directly in the hands of every Indian citizen, without the need to visit a police station for routine requests.

Report a Cyber Crime
Citizens can now report cybercrime incidents quickly and easily through the portal, ensuring faster response and digital evidence tracking.

Central Citizen Services

  • Missing Person Search — search for and report missing individuals across state databases
  • Generate Vehicle NOC — obtain No Objection Certificates for vehicles
  • Proclaimed Offenders Information — access publicly available information on proclaimed offenders

Services Provided by State Police Citizen Portals
Through a state-selection interface, citizens can access a wide range of state-level services including:

  1. Filing complaints directly with the concerned police station
  2. Checking the status of existing complaints
  3. Obtaining copies of FIRs
  4. Accessing details of arrested persons and wanted criminals
  5. Searching for missing or kidnapped persons and matching them with arrested individuals
  6. Tracking details of stolen and recovered vehicles, arms, and other properties
  7. Submitting requests for issuance or renewal of various NOCs
  8. Verification requests for servants, employment, passport, and senior citizen registrations
  9. Accessing and downloading government forms and sharing information with the appropriate authorities

For Police: Professional Tools to Strengthen Investigation and Intelligence

The portal also serves as a powerful operational hub for law enforcement professionals, providing access to a suite of integrated systems:

  • CCTNS Search — Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems search for nationwide criminal records
  • ICJS Search — Integrated Criminal Justice System search across police, courts, and prisons
  • CCTNS Reports — Analytical reports generated from the national crime database
  • I-MOT — Integrated platform under the Ministry of Transport
  • CyTrain — Dedicated cybercrime training platform for police personnel
  • NDSO — National Database of Sexual Offenders
  • ITSSO — IT System for Sexual Offenders
  • CRI-MAC — Crime Multi Agency Centre for inter-agency intelligence sharing

A Step Towards Transparent, Accountable, and Citizen-Friendly Policing

The Digital Police Portal represents a fundamental shift in how policing works in India. By centralising citizen services and professional tools on a single platform, it eliminates unnecessary friction, reduces delays, and brings a new standard of accountability to the system.

Whether you are a citizen seeking information, filing a complaint, or tracking a case — or a police professional conducting investigations and accessing national databases — the Digital Police Portal is built for you.
